Downtown Portland has a lovely little secret, a new women's apparel boutique named Artemisia. It is located in the heart of downtown at the corner of Stark and 3rd in the Pioneer Building . Built in 1879, the Pioneer Building is an appropriate location for a boutique with this much pioneer spirit.
Artemisia is the heart and brain child of Leeann Steckhan, who envisioned creating a boutique where a woman's experience of shopping was just as important as what she was buying. To best further this goal, she needed a space that had an open, un-crowded sense of volume and loads of sunny windows. She honors the goddess Artemis with the boutique's name, and has focused on presenting clothes that empower women to strive for their own personal best. She wanted to create a boutique overflowing with a sublime radiance, a place where women would feel comfortable and pampered offering clothes for every aspect of a woman's life. With its spacious 2000 square foot space and 15' ceiling, accessibly displayed design, and cozy sitting area, Artemisia exudes comfort and warmth. It has a style and ambience reminiscent of a Mediterranean villa.
Leeann has put together a unique selection of well-made, chic, and yet timelessly elegant pieces from around the world. There are several European designers unavailable anywhere else in Portland . From cutting edge (and startlingly cute!) workout wear, to unique day and evening wear, to lingerie, Artemisia has clothes that bring style & comfort.
